Spring shopping

A couple of weekends ago I went for lunch as usual with a friend. While we were having lunch I was complaining over the lack of nice stuff in the stores where we live.

Oh boy did I eat that one up:on saturday I got:

2 pair of shorts

one elbow cover for my damaged elbow

On the sunday I got:

top from H&m I've bin craving for a while

tunic on sale

And some letter, but no love, hope or peace here. We went for A & Q

Easter gift

My parents gave me a new pair of running shoes in my easter egg....
Now I Just need to find the time to try them out and get running. Until then they get to stand there bright and shiny

Spring is in the air

I love the first signs of spring. When the first green bits and flowers break through the dead frozen ground:

On our third trial I managed to get the perfect 10 in score.

Fingers crossed that I managed that on the written presentation to.

Australia

As you might have noticed I have bin quite quiet about Australia lately.

No I have not given up hope (not yet), but I have to be realistic and as long as my studentloan repayment looks like this (yearly in SEK) there is little chance that I can save up what I need in my current position.
Yes I could:

• stop shopping,
• studying at uni
  
• working out at the gym
• could move to the town where I work
• stop being social
• get rid of my cats
  

There are many thigns that I could do, but the thing is it would take me at least 365 days to get what I need to be able to dare to make that move.

reason:

1. No matter what my studentloand need to be paid every year, that means I have to have at least a year worth saved up for that
2. When I find a job and actually managed to settle overseas my yearly amount that need to be repaid will increase by 2% in total 6% of my total income (I now pay 4% before tax)
3. I'm scared to be standing there not being able to afford food or rent

so yhea what is holding me back is the fright of my student loan will kill me by its load!

its a catch 22: I'm depressed that I'm still stuck in this bloody country, but donät know how to be able to afford the move

Thats how much I slept last night.

I promised it felt great to drive 310km after that AND attend a 2½ hr lecture where we had to meet afterwards to puzzle our oral presentation together for tomorrow.

Have to prepare my keycards tonight, but my brain only want sleep.

Wonder if I should do as I did last week and go up at crack of dawn to prepare my speach.

If you have injured your elbow, do not try and twist it underneath your body while sleeping.

This will result in such severe pain that you:
1) wake up from it
2) can't use your arm the whole day
3) are back on painkillers

I'm currently trying to get a 3 page summary of our oral presentation to become one.

Its like an advanced jigsaw puzzle with the copping block close at hand.

This time I'm taking a course in Primate Ethology.
next week I'll hopefully have a meeting with the course supervisor so that I can find out what I need to do to get my Masters in science.

Beach 2010 trial 2

Ok trial 2. Fingers crossed that my elbow holds up and that there are no more major accidents this spring that will keep me off the track.
I'm not allowed to put any wieght on it, but will try a bodyjam class to see how that goes and when I start uni this week I'll start using the treadmill where I'll be staying.

Worlds worst cat owner

I forgot to buy catfood last night....
that means this morning I had two starving cats. Threw myself into the car and drove to the gasstation that was open.

The only catfood they have there is friskies. I might as well have given them some cereal instead (if you look at nutritional value)

Snowboard

Last thursday we have an outdoor PE day at work. This day we have once a year and the students get to decide what kind of winteractivites that they would like to do during the whole day. I decided to do the same as last year and tag on the students that wanted to go skiing and snowboarding. It is usually a really nice day in the slopes.The only thing you need to do as a teacher is to make sure the students get their slopetickets, food ticket and get there and from. If no accidents happend that is.

This year I wasn't as lucky as I was last year. Around noon the last run before we were going on lunchbreak I fell not in a steep slope or fast or anything, just lost my balance where it was flat. Unfortunatley I took the entire fall with my left arm & managed to bend the eldow in the wrong way. That was it for my day in the slope.

After lunch I was keeping the busdriver company and being boored. My elbow was hurting, but didn't think it was that bad until we started driving home. The vibrations from the bus settled in my arm and the pain was making me nausious. So when I got home I had to drive to the ER and get it examined to make sure I hadn't broken or cracked any bones in the elbow.

Thank got that was not the case, just a sewere sprain and extended tendons. Since then I have bin eating painkillers 24/7 and had my elbow in bandage. Now I can move it but some movement makes the elbow pop and you can feel the bones shifting slightly inside.

New boots

Yesterday my Timbeland boots decided to give up and today the zipper officially died. So in panic I headed into town in my mission to find a pair of replacemnt boots on sale.

I managed to find these ecco boots on 50%. So happy, unfortunately they decided as all my new shoes to give my horrible blisters. So for the next couple of days I'll have to live in my uggs.

Aren't they pretty? For a normal person they would be knee high, but for me they are 10 cm short, but still like the look of them on.

This is the third and final book of The Dark Materials triology. The first two books I finsihed quickly and then after seem to have lost my copy of The Amber spyglass had to borrow my friends book waited impatiently to got my hands on it. Told her that she would have it back within a week. That turned out to be a lie. For some reason it has taken me ages to finish it (ok ok about 1½month).

You finally find out why Lyra and Will are so important and what the real deal with her parents are. You also get your questions answered about the subtle knife, but that about it. I felt it lost its speed and energy that the first two books had. This one was more of a drag where you were reading page after page and nothing exciting really happened.
Its ashame when it all started so good that it lost a little in the end. But I do like that the ending is not a happy fairytale ending as it is with so many fantasy books.

I give it a three

Yes I did finish both book 1 and 2 within a week. Did I like this one as much as book 1. Yes, but I think this one in some areas were a little to obvious what was going to happend (but it is a teen book to). Got a little over the blood drinking at one point, but really really liked it and now I paitiently have to sit and wait until the postalservice arrives with my package that holds books 3-5 for me.

Just need to find out what happens in the clearing when Elena steps through, How will Damon and Stefan react. But more impotantly how will Bonnie deal with it all?

I give this one a four. Don't like books that end and I HAVE to read the next book to finish a chapter (scene) or what ever you are going to call it.

A students of mine told me that if I like the Twilight saga I had to read the Vampire diaries. SO when I was ordering books around christmas I got this one to bot book 1 and 2.
I started reading it last week and finished it within two days. As you know now if I like a book I will finish it swiftly.

At first it reminded me a little to much about Twilight (yes I know this story was written long before twilight was even thought of). But I just couldn't stop reading. Its a little scary and when my vivid imagination starts running away I see and hear lots of interesting things in my apartment. And yet again I want a Vampire to fall in love with me, but not so sure about having a brother that hates me that is also a vampire.

After finishing the book I just want to read more about Elena, Stefan, Damon and Bonnie. Have started watching the Tv-show but not the same as the books.

I give this one a five

since I'm two months late I'll just keep on my christmas run.

My new computer was the best gift but after that it was my friends that had the best gifts:

new pj's from australia (the only country in the world that does pj's i just LOVE)

Mid february I got awarded my Master of education in vocational subjects (ie: natural resuorce use)

Now I'm aiming for my master of science that I start in 4 weeks

I know I know this is late!!

But each year I ask a friend to fill my advent calandar with something. I give them between €10-20 and they get to fill it for me.

This year my dear friend Holly Hock did it for me and this is what I got:

chocolate (lots and lots and lots of amazing chocolate from around the world), lipbalm, some gunk and lots of beautiful poems on red notes (not sure what to do with them, thining of getting a frame or two for them)

Sleep is clearly over rated!!

Go to bed around midnight, wake up several times from strange dreams & finally decided against sleeping at 4:10 am....

MQ last chance sale

I was going to pick up my boots from the shoe guy the other day. There was a huge line so I decided to have a loot at the supersale on Mq. Have now bin at Mq in four different cities without finding anything.

But ofcourse I did managed to get some items I have bin looking at before at good prices....

Cross country skiing

For the last hour I have bin sitting on pin needles and I swear the last seconds of that race I was as excited as the commentators when sweden took both gold and bronze.....
